dolariI've had a bit of a tough weekend. Actually, they've all been tough since Trinoc. Lately I've been feeling kind of depressed and down, and even a few weeks ago I was thinking "Maybe if I didn't do the comics this week I could relax."
Well, that's when I realized the problem. When I have a job I don't like, I don't like to do stuff on the weekends that I may not like. Kinda of a "don't waste the weekend" feeling. Well, I have a three day weekend, but one day of that is all comics. While I don't HATE doing comics, it IS work, and usually 16 hours of work.
The rest of my weekends have been doing odd jobs for friends, going out with Dean, following up on X Y or Z, or worse: Waking up with even LESS sleep than I get on weekdays.
It's all catching up on me, especially this weekend when I realized that my Sunday would be a HUGE lack of sleep on top of too MUCH sleep on Monday to make up for it - result: No Weekend.
This really really fouled my mood and pissed me off. I need a vacation or at least a weekend to sit and veg. I've missed Sky Captain, and have yet to see Team America. I missed out on Prisoner of Azkaban, too, simply because I don't have time.
My mood lifted on Monday Morning, when I called y doctor who said they weren't seeing patients that day. I went back to bed and napped all day.
Then the mood REALLY lifted.
I got my copies of Mortal Kombat Deception and Midway Arcade Treasures 2. This means I got a new MK game, and an ARCADE ALMOST-PERFECT MK1-MK3 playable on the TV.
Now I hear what you're saying - Jenn, don't you allready HAVE MK1-3 on your computer arcade perfect? The official answer is - NO DUE TO LEGAL CONCERNS INVOLVING THE GREY AREA OF EMULATION OF NO LONGER AVAILABLE ARCADE TITLES. :)
Dean ALSO loves MK and we enjoy a good 2player version of the game. But Dean HATES playing on PC monitors for whatever reason. So now we have a PS2 port of the MK games where we can kick each other asses three ways to Sunday. He gets his TV version, I get the Arcade Emulation I like.
Next week looks to be a busy weekend. Along with comics, I have a party on Saturday AND I'm headed to San Antonio for another shot which means my Sunday will be short, and my Monday will be asleep.
Maybe I can get out the weekend after next....
