100% better!

Major crisis has been averted. Dean got paid, and Istill have $1.52 in the bank. The Paypal donations should trickle into the bank soon and I should be good, especially for the small paycheck I'll have next week. With sort checks for Christmas and New Years coming up, I should be stable come January. But only if that truck stays okay ::Watches it fall apart ala Blues Brothers::

Through sheer idiocy I have managed to pour nacho cheese (onto and possibly INTO) my laptop. Cause I'm stupid that way. It's working fine, and I don't smell any jalapenoy goodness coming from the computer, so let's hope it survives. Don't ask how I did it, and ESPECIALLY don't ask how long it was on there.

Lee wanted pics of the MREs...but seeing as I prolly won't eat another for a while, here are pics of the leftovers. Note to self - get a better camera. It seems to be GREAT for far away shots, and really close shots. But anything in between? Blurry as all hell.

Pumpkin Pound Cake that I didn't eat earlier in the day. Package is a bit bigger than a CD and completely airtght. Not pictured: Lynn Minmei.

Pouncake Unleashed! I'm not a big fan of pumpkin, but I've since found out that ALL my MREs have been packed with pumpkin bread. Plus...well...it smelled really good, so I had a a bite or two, and actually finished it off. It's really really good. Even for pumpkin. :)

The "accessory pack" Civilian Version. Not pictured: Salt, Spoon and Napkin. The moist towlette you gotta use fast, cause it goes from wet to dry in about five minutes flat. :) Unfortunately, all my MREs also have coffee, despite the fact that they make cocoa and powdered iced tea in the military versions. They also get tabasco, candy, gum and toilet paper (inedible).

I have an MRE too!!!

I'm glad to hear things are going better and your money situation is not as bad, although I know a $1.52 does not put you in the owning class.

I've never had beef ice cream, but there is a Gelatto place in Vancouver that has over 100 flavors, including kimchee and garlic. They let you sample as many as you want. I sampled the garlic, it was rancid, like freezer burned ice cream from a filthy fridge x1000. After that I didn't have the stomach to sample the kimchee ice cream, but next time. Something to look forward to if you do make it out to the NW sometime (well I guess SW Canada, but its close).

Actually, I got an EMail from ne of the guys whose FAQ I read, and he said this stuff "generally"lasts up to ten years. Just skip the applesauce and cheese spread. ;)

$1.52 sucks...but I have a full weeks of groceries and the MREs one I blow through that.

the Beef Ice Cream line was actually from Iron Chef, where I 've seen salmon ice cream and curry ice cream. :)

The first one I ever saw was asparagus ice cream... The required food, of course, was asparagus. I really thought some of the judges'/critics' heads were going to explode when they sampled some of those dishes.
