Well, since I didn't do anything today...let's catch up, won't we?

Day 1: Flight to Minneapolis

Only had an hour of sleep, although I think I slept on the plane. I'm not sure. The flights went super quick though, so I'm sure I slept through some of it. Once I landed, [livejournal.com profile] soltice and [livejournal.com profile] pazi_ashfeather picked me up and sent me off to some of the best Mexican food I'd had outside of Texas. And it sure beat the pants off of Seattle.

With dinner done, we headed back to the apartment where I kinda lounged a bit. To be honest, I was very woozy, but trying to stay awake so I didn't sleep the whole day away and wake up at 3AM. I don't remember much of that, other than a lot of driving around and seeing what Uptown Minneapolis looked like.

After some time, we needed to take PAzi to her Ojibwa class, and so Tess and I waited at a coffee shop for a bit. We had a nice long talk about writing and stories, comparing and contrasting our little story worlds, and even our collaboration on Voices of Authority. All over frozen yogurt. :9

From there, we headed back to the apartment, where Tess showed off her ham radio station. This got us to talking about Ham radio, and how I really enjoyed the CB scene in San Antonio in the late 80s. This led to one of the more interesting facets of the night:

Tess is really big on amateur radio, and likes to see people getting into it. She's seen my enthusasm for her ham stuff over the years, and knows that I nearly got my licesnse but never pursued it because I couldn't never learned Morse Code. Since morse isn't a requirement, that's no longer an issue. She had me take a sample ham radio test...

..I made a 31% out of 100%.

But it was a 31% on 37 hours awake and one hour of sleep.

She wanted me to try again after some decent sleep. :D

It came time to pick up Pazi, and we headed out, picked her up, and back. In all, a nice night was had. As nice as 37 hours awake could make it.
