Was listening to a song about a man becalmed in a sinking boat, on his way to making up with his girlfriend. He uses the letter to patch the boat, but is still stuck. Immediately conjured up a scene in my head:
Great Exploration date sailing vessel, sitting, stuck in in front of a huge glacer, scout ships are trying to find a way around to get through to the destination on the other side but can't. The scout ships all report their destination is on the other side, but no way to geth there. Captian decides to head back to port, report his findings, and then wait on his next mission. Suddenly got the idea that his navigator died, making the return home bittersweet.
Got hit with a cool breeze, was reminded of The Long Road Home, and ZAP - story idea:
