I spent four years trying to get into my dream job at Nintendo and failed. The job I can't get away from fast enough just offered me $40k a year to stay on after a month and a half.

I want to say FML...but that's a LOT of money to attempt to but happiness worth...

I know i'm a poor poster-child for "work to live" - my last job almost destroyed me - but that was mainly because i was too lazy to look around in the mean time. And now i'm enjoying the rewards anyways. If you really do hate it, remember it's a lot less stressful to look for work when you have a steady income (and health insurance!); just do it before your soul (and thus, motivation) gets completely shredded. Also, you deserve the opportunity to build up your new home in Texas - taking this job might get you a good way toward that. Being happy and comfortable in your home is a pretty big deal.
