dolariOne of the things I got out of reading all these early drafts of the movie is how Kirk and Decker's roles change. In the early ones, Decker is the impetuous youth going up against Kirks seasoned cool. In later ones, Decker is the one who knows the ship backwards and forwards, and Kirk is the one constantly questioning Decker.
Decker isn't really a sympathetic charcter in these early drafts. Later ones show him as a team player, kicked off the team, then slowly making his way bakc on team. You kinda feel bad for the guy.
