Nov. 1st, 2014 03:38 amWhile I'm not a very religious person, I'm very spritual. In trying to find my religious niche, I've tried a lot of things. From being a devout Roman Catholic, to a passable witch, to making my own thing up, to just taking a quote from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and running with it.
While I never found a religion that fit me, one thing I've taken from all this that still rings true to me is a mix of the Wiccan Samhain, The Mexican-Catholic Day of the Dead and Roman-Catholic All Souls Day. For me, these three days are probably the closest I have to a religious holiday. It's a time of releasing, regrouping, and rebirth.
I find it a good omen that I left Austin today, the first of the three days. It truly is a release and a regrouping. Rebirth won't happen for a while...but we're off to a good start.
