BTW, I now have the whole first season of Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea. Except it's "Les Mondes Engloutis." And completely in French. But...it's the next best thing to an English DVD release. :)

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, please move along...

Nickelodeon didn't show it for very long, but if you saw the Mysterious Cities of Gold, then you prolly saw Les Mondes Engloutis as well. :)

I loved the concept of it...each strata they visited was based on a story or legend from history, but was a "sequel" to the story. Like the strata they visited where the Pied Piper of Hamlin left the children, and the rats he dragged down there were raising them. Or how Emperor Qin and his terra cotta army actually got the immortality they wanted, and he had this massive marching army of pottery. :)

I loved this show, and it had little homages in my sotries. In AWFW, an upcoming character is dressed like Spartakus.

I miss actual good programming on Nickelodeon SO MUCH! I managed to track down two eps of Tomorrow People on Ebay but I miss that and The Third Eye and all the Special Delivers specials a whole lot...
