Is there an Android browser with NO plugins for video? Auto playing video is quickly becoming my nemesis and I'd be willing to install Lynx at this point to shut them down.

Would an ad blocker be suitably configurable, perhaps?

I do wonder at web designers who actually deliberately deface their own sites thusly. I don't encounter autoplay video much, but there are plenty of wonders like "oh, you want page X? Fine, but I'll show you a full page ad first", or the ever-popular "I'll load everything, and immediately park a modal dialog on top, begging you to subscribe to our newsletter", let alone just the slew of randomly animated ad boxes on lesser sites. Gah. Thankfully, it's not bad enough I've had to take action - any site that behaves badly, I simply don't visit again - but still, I'm always left wondering at the actual, conscious, deliberate chain of reasoning that winds up with "crap on your visitors!" as being the right answer.

iOS 9's support for content blocking will be interesting. Perhaps that might help nudge some site devs into being a mite less obnoxious, or even creative? We'll see.

I did find a nice browser that doesn't do any videos or even images. Just straight up text and minor formatting: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.weejim.app.lynx&hl=en
