Unable to go to sleep early, and unable towake up early made for a very late start to Jenn's day. I'm getting kind of angry at my wasted Mondays.
Also...remember those few flies Iwas talkign about? Suddenly the house was full og them. They were EVERYWHERE. And I still can't seem to find where they're coming from! We took out all the trash, did all the dishes and they're still just everywhere! Hopefully, with everything clean, they'll start to go away...especially since we forgot to buy flypaper at the groceries tonight. I did manage to clear out most of the buggers from the room I was in at the time, though...but they'd migrate to the bathroom, or the living room. :P But once I reclaimed the kitchen (and cleaned everything), I attempted to make some food,
Sometimes, being completely unable to make food is a GOOD thing. Case in point, what the hell did I make last night?!
It was meant to be salsa. It really was meant to be salsa. But it's much too...green. And chunky. Not to mention watery versus soupy. And DAMN it's good. According to dean, I've invented some sort of mutant cilantro infused gaspacho.
Recipe for "Whatever the Hell it Was Jenn Made."
1 14.5 ounce can of diced tomatoes.
5 jalapenos (alhough this is QUITE spicy...I think I need to push it back to 4 jalapenos)
1 "clump" of cilantro...you know...a bundle...a bouquet.
Salt/Pepper/Garlic Powder/Onion Powder to taste
Dice the cilantro and jalapenos in a chopper, scoop it into a bowl, be amazed at how green it all is, add tomatoes and spices. Tasty accidental cuisine.
and now I wait. For once my insomnia is helping me out - I need to pick up a package at the apartment office. I'll write about THAT tomorrow. :)
