The main supermarket I go to does offer scales, but I've not bothered with them as yet. I would, if I attempted any baking - there, the ratios are crucial to the outcome, whereas in something like my usual stir-fries, rice & beans, or augmented pies, it's entirely freeform. And a lot of fun. ^_^
