Oh, darn. The bucatini I've been eating for a month has gone off. Whatever shall I eat that has the same amount of carbs? She said eyeing the candy bar section of the cafeteria.
"gone off"? Either gone bad, or you've lost your taste for it. Both Briticisms. Which one? (I rarely have pasta, and none of it here has expiration dates. I expect that eating 5-year-old macaroni wouldn't be the wisest or safest thing, but I'm pretty sure I have some at least that old sitting in Tupperware in my pantry.) I first thought it might have "gone off" the menu at work, actually. But hey, I also had to look up "bucatini" to see what it was....
