Jul. 31st, 2016 12:41 amThere is one convenience to voting in Texas versus voting in Washington: Filling out my ballot took 4 hours. In Texas, about ten minutes...
...but I was able to make completely informed decisions thanks to the voters guide that came with my ballot, from the super traditional candidates to the that one crazy anti-semite that made even me go "WOW."
I read each of their statements, ignored the platitudes, gave them a check mark when I agreed with something they said, and x when I didn't, and voted on those numbers.
I didn't have to worry about ballots that were 1 democrat and 8 republicans and maybe a Libertarian all vying for the same position. Didn't have to worry about whether I was making the right decision or not, based on name recognition from attack ads alone, and, most of all, didnt' have to worry about a Diebold machine trying to get me to vote for George W Bush (that actually happened).
In fact, because I'm a leftie commie pinko, I was even able to vote for a socialist. That'd NEVER happen in Texas.
I've never had a problem voting in Texas, even while Trans. But I know the problem exists. I didn't realize HOW much of a problem it was till I voted here....
