It's 2AM Local time as I write this. I'm all packed for a trip to Texas I'd never thought I would need to take. I need to get to sleep to make a flight tomorrow.

But I couldn't go to bed without thanking everyone for their kind words and thoughts. "Thank You" never seems to be a good enough response, especially at times like this.

But I wanted to point out specifically Crystal and Lissa for taking care of me today. Making me laugh and smile at a time I didn't feel like either. And for offering hugs when I needed them most.

And a huge thank you to Steph and Heather, for helping me get back home on such short notice, and for taking charge when all I could do was sit and stare into the distance.

And there is something I want to say to them, and to you. Something you should always say with your heart, if not your voice, when parting ways. "I love you."

You never know when that will be the last time someone hears it.

Oh, crikey.. that kind of hurried travel? Only been there once myself, so far, in 2011, when first I heard Dad was seriously ill in hospital (needless to say, I explained to the team I wouldn't be at tomorrow's quarterly meeting, and caught a train down, meeting up with Mum midway there), and then a week or so later, the final call.

I remain so thankful that during one of my jobs, I had the good fortune to be working remotely for a few months, and chose to spend it down at his place. As I was earning well, and only paying modest rent, I paid for us to go out to eat two or three times a week - food's always been a love for the family. I liked being able to, in a way, repay him for my own love of food, and just being there for us.

Were they a younger or older sister?

Do stay in touch, if you can. **hughug**

She was my younger sister. Died of a heart attack in her sleep. No pain, no suffering. Just gone. And way way WAY too young.
