There were 64 of these ships scouring the Universe. 61 are in service. One disappeared after it planned to investigate a black hole. One is functional but not moving as it's pilot and backup died as thier health gained faster than the ship/nanites could repair them. One is on its way to that ship to deliver a new pilot and backup, but will take two hundred years to get there at top speed. And it is the closest to that derelict ship. They all "keep in touch" with each other by transmitting updates and contents, but each update can take hundreds of years to reach the other ships.
