So...Star Trek: Picard. Wow. That's...wow.

It's odd, because it very much feels like a descendant of the Star Trek: Discovery world. Dark, gritty, heavy. But it's also very much a descendant of TNG. The references to TNG feel like they fit in here, while also being...well..TNG. It's like seeing two puzzle pieces that don't look like they'll fit together, but they do, and suddenly the picture on each piece makes sense. And that kind of broke my brain.

And the series kind of explains that Picard feels that way too. That Starfleet has lost it's way, and isn't the same anymore, and he will champion Old Starfleet to the best of his ability.

And I'll admit, the shots of Data, the old uniforms, even the scene in 10-Forward really made me all nostalgic for the Enterprise D era of Trek. I've missed it. And while it's definitely New Trek, it's made sure there's a little place where TNG Trek is still alive.
