dolariMaybe there was something wrong with the hub from the very beginning. With that old hub, my transfer speeds with the external HDD were 10-20MB a second. With this one, it's 122MB.
Curiouser and curiouser. It's working fine now, maybe I won't replace the old USB hub until I run out of ports. I've unplugged everything and am only plugging things in as I need them - maybe I don't NEED everything I had plugged in before.
