Nov. 24th, 2021 09:39 amGo in for a dental annoyance, come out with a dental emergency.
Last time or saw my dentist was a little over two years ago. At the time everything was going fairly well. She was worried about one of my fillings looking a little rough.
I put it off for six months because Nintendo's insurance didn't cover much and I had to save. Then I left for Tableau. Then the pandemic happened...and everything went off the rails.
Over the weekend I was eating when I felt something sharp in my food. Afterwards my tooth felt odd and then there was a snap and everything went back to normal.
With the pandemic dying down, me being vaccinated, and better insurance I calling my dentist. She wanted me to come in the next day as soon as possible, 6PM. Then 5PM. 4 if possible.
Went in, and a quick look showed that a filling had chipped. There was a good chance it could be repaired. And then, on a closer look the filling had cracked.
So out came the X Ray machine and things kinda got worse. The chip probably happened this weekend. The crack though had happened a lot earlier. And even worse, a cavity had formed under it where it couldn't be cleaned and become huge.
Emergency dental work for two and a half hours with a temporary crown installed. On top of that, she said this would likely result in a root canal in the future.
So, how'd your Tuesday go?
