So her eI'm wondering why Adult Swim's lineup seems so weird today, and then Evangelion shows up. So I'm thinking "Well, let's see if it's as good as everyone says it is." Then I think....

If your first time seeing Evangelion is going to be dubbed, then no, its not as good as everyone says it is. The dub is horrible all around.

If your first time seeing Evangelion is going to be subtitled, then no, its not as good as everyone says it is, because its overrated to the point it has a fanatical fan following and nothing can live up to that expectation.

Its a decent series, and gets pretty good near the end, but nothing can live up to the hype it has behind it at this point. Still, probably worth watching at least the once, just because its such a staple at this point, kinda like Akira.

It really is very, very good. But definitely see it subbed, and all the way through in sequence. And I'd skip the 'End of Evangelion' movie, if I were you. :)

Evangelion's always been one of my favourite series. I've never seen it dubbed, so some of the dubbing makes me giggle.

It's amazing how different the general look is of the show to other shows from Japan now -- isn't it?

It reminds me a lot of 80s anime, on grainy film with jump cuts, but very distinct if not all the fluid animation.
