Hill Country Baptist Church has put in a THIRD TIME for a Graphic Designer. They're still asking to "join our church upon employment."

Wonder when they'll get wise?

While job hunting today, I noticed that Cool Ass Job has put another ad in the paper for the position I put in for several weeks ago. When I called in today (again) to let them know I was still interested in the position, I was blown off with "Um. Well. Uh. That's a standing employment advertisement. In case we need to fill any positions in the future."

Right. And the line you gave me about "You'll find out next month back when I interviewed?" You coulda told me no right then and there, you know. I threw another resume at them anyways. Whatevah.

Being trans sucks. I don't recommend it. Go take up embroidery or something.

I do have an interview tomorrow at 10AM. Fishy sounding place, but if it'll pay the bills, fishy is good. What kind of phone interview asks if you're single? Or how long I've lived in Texas? Or where exactly I live in Austin (I stopped him at "Jollyville")?

This sucks. I hate it when they blow us off, ya know?

Even though I'm interviewing with a GLBT organization here in liberal-land, I worry about this sorta stuff too. It always sucks.

Oh -- and where you live and if you are single? Ya, there's some major red flags.

That's not legal:

Of course, neither is the religious affiliation deal.

I found the title funny, because Jergens is my hand lotion of choice.

I was going to make a retort about your "Being trans sucks" line, but I'll let you use your imagination. Just remember I still think you're awesome.

Concur.

Most sizable corporations know this, and train managers and interviewers to not ask these kinds of questions - the potential lawsuits are really not worth it.

So yeah, fishy.
