Looks like I'll be doing the webcomics Transgender Day of Remembrance thing again this year. I actually was contemplating handing it off this year because, well, the subject depresses me, and I really could use the something uplifting right now. However, I was convinced to do it by Erin Lindsey cause the premise she came up with was too good to pass up. And we've even got one for 2007 coming up.

So, if you'd like to help out with the Webcomics Transgender Day of Remembrance Project, gimmie a buzz. If you're interested, but have no idea what I'm talking about, head to http://www.gender.org/remember/day/index.html , http://www.rememberingourdead.org/index.html and http://www.dolari.net/dor .

No, this isn't the official announcement. That'll be a bit more sanitized. :D

What assistance do you need for the project?

Is there any way to find out what the premise is? I was planning to mark the day in (at least) one of my webcomics (though I acknowledge it may simply not work/happen).

And also, like [livejournal.com profile] shadow_mib said, what sort of help would you like?

Faboo. I'm working on some 2006 materials as I type this, too.

Cheers,
Gwen Smith

Right now, I really don't need "help," it was more of a suggestion of "if you want in now is the time to EMail me."

The premise this year is "Every _____ was once a baby" although it's not the last word on that yet. Every comic will use a differwnt epithet: Freak, sissy, faggot, queer, with a baby picture of the character in question.

Of course the premise is voluntary, ypu can do what you like, just let me know what you're doing.

I just run the Webcomics thing. You might want to get with Gwen over at gwensmith.com who general coordinates the bigger stuff for tips and what to do.

And to be honest, I don't know the date....Usually it's around 9/20.

Will do - my net access at home's been down for the last two days (including e-mail) but it's up now.
