Number 2 has a very clean look, but number 1 is cool! Overall, I'm going with Number 1.
I think the thing I like from #2 is the slight space between the border and the comic. Maybe a little narrower bevel on #1 would also achieve that effect?

I like two best, its cleaner than #1 is in that particular layout.
