For the third year in a row, we're trying to gather art commemorating the Transgender Day of Remembrance. It's open to anyone, not just webcomic artists. If you're interested, read on.

This year's theme

Each creator should draw their transgendered character as a child (most likely as their birth sex), anywhere from infant age to around five or six; your choice. The picture should be innocent and child-like, and include the caption or title "Every (x) is someone's child," where (x) is replaced with the slur of your choice (prime candidates include 'freak', 'weirdo', 'faggot', 'sissy', 'outcast', and so on; we'd like for each comic to have their own). An additional line, mentioning how many transgendered people were killed in 2006 would finish the comic. As in all the other years, this year's theme is optional, and if you have another idea you'd like to do, feel free to do it, and it will be displayed alongside the others.

If you'd like to see the previous two years efforts, please visit http://www.dolari.net/dor

Hmm... open to anyone, you say?

Not sure which of my two characters I'd draw... or how... to do them... as children... but I could most certainly try. It's for a cause, so why not?

Well, you can pretty do much anything you'd like as long as it relates to the DoR. Doesn't HAVE to be the characters that only you and I've seen.

You know what? It'd be way to easy to do to pass up. I mean, I don't even really have to panel or color it... just make it look as nice as I can, and make it purposeful.

I can do that.

Barring the usual unforeseen events, I'm planning on opening wizzywig.net, the site on which I'm going to serialize A Queer Turn of Events, on TDOR, using an illustration of Tam as a young child on the initial page. So you can include me if you'd like.
