Wednesday
So I woke up and got the hell out of Dodge. Took a nice long route, From San Antonio -> Beckmann -> Leon Springs -> Camp Stanley -> Bergheim -> Kendalia -> Fischer -> Wimberly -> Dripping Springs -> Austin route.

Unfortunately, I'm using the web based journal entry form, so you'll have to make do with this link and search for the cities yourself if you're interested: http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/

Trust me, little towns have cool histories.

The trip up was BEAUTIFUL, mainly because it was the first time I attempted the drive in the day. Yeah, I tend to drive late at night when you can't see the scenery. Bite me. Night drives ROCK.

I also "pinged" on virtually every tree in sight.

The trip was about 120 miles, three hours. Got into Austin on time at almost 6PM sharp, just like I'd wanted to. Got to Deener's unpacked and got myself psyched for the interview.

Thankfully, Deener and New Girl actually managed to set up the sleeping arangements pretty damned well. Deener stayed with New Girl, giving me Deener's place all to myself. COOL.

Got in touch with my cousin to try and get together Thursday. Actally, I came out to her, and shw as MOST cool with it. So begins the slow indoctrination of my family.

That evening was pretty boring since I didn't see Deener for most of the night. New Girl and Deener went to go see a dress rehearsal, and I was alone. They took me out to Friday's for dinner though, after the play. Good time had by all.

Not to mention that this personal shielding stuff really does work. I wasn't anxious around new girl at all this time.

BUT HORROR! My interview dresses had a stain on them, and smelled strongly of perfume! UHG! I was horrified to find that my backup dress had the same stains on it. Thankfully they washed right out, but it kinda freaked me out. Mom keeps perfume oil in the area whene I found my clothes - I was really worried that oil had seeped in and ruined my clothing.

Thursday
Woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head. Okay, maybe not. Woke up, got out of bed, showered, climbed in my clothes, climbed in my pick up and climbed into the interview.

The interview went VERY well, despite a MAJOR screw up. The pre interview went well, and then they set me up on a computer to test typing skills. The results? 57 Words per Minute. 305 Errors. THREE HUNDRED AND FIVE ERRORS. Turns out I did the wrong test accidentally. They didn't hold it against me, because they wanted general WPM anyway. And I impressed them - my keystrokes per hour rate was 10,008. TEN THOUSAND AND EIGHT. They said I was only the second person to break 10,000 in their office.

Needless to say, they seemed to like me a LOT. They're supposed to call Monday for a phone interview. Hopefully that'll go well and I'll be working by next week.

Hopefully, my ass - I WILL BE WORKING BY NEXT WEEK.

I left a message on my cousin's answering machine to give me a call on my cellphone. No use driving all the way back to Deener's just go back downtown again. So I go to the park by Elizabet Ney museum, sit down with my MP3 player, and read a bit more of Erin's second book. I also pinged on another tree near me - this one actually "pinged" as two trees, even though it looked like one. On closer insepction, I was almost horrified by what I saw: IT was obviously TWO trees that had merged together. The trunk wa sHUGE, and branches spiraled out chaotically...and ocasionally, two branches would split off of one trunk in the exact same direction. IT was like looking at an amoeba eat another amoeba. You could see bumps where submerged branches were pushing the trunk of another tree out. It was horrible, but also a bit beautiful, too. Especially if you considered it as a merging of two loving beings, instead of the digestion of another plant.

There's a story there, I'm sure of it.

So I sat at the park, listening to music, reading my book, and she doesn't call. I feel almost a bit stood up, and head on back to Deener's apartment. Meh, I say to myself. When I get there, the answering machine has a call from my cousin: She is at her boyfriends, call her there. D'ohh! I call the boyfriend - she's already left. Double D'ohh! I spend the rest of the evening semi alone, and Dean and I spend a little time together watching SeaLab 2021 and Space Ghost. :)

Friday
I FINALLY get together with my cousin, even if it's only for a few short hours. We re-get to know each other. She's pretty cool, a hyper liberal vegan type who enjoys the finer things in Austin. Which pretty much just ROCKS. She invited me to a BBQ (Vegan, at a BBQ?) which I should have gone to. Deener had said he was coming home at 8PM, he didn't. Not until 11PM. I go tdinner when he said they weren't going out for dinner, then invited me after I had my Chinese food. Missed opportunities abound, it seems.

We played Trivial Pursuit afterwards. And New Girl was pissed at seomthing.

Saturday
Saturday began badly. we woke up very late, missed the first showing of a movie which pissed New Girl off. Saw LotR thirty mintues later, and New Girl was STILL pissed. From last night and missing the first showing. She was very obviously livid at something. Thankfully I got the heck out of there and into the waiting arms of The Tangents.

Talked with Erin for a good while about this new "Awakening" I'm having. I seem to be doing pretty good so far, it seems.

I fell asleep on the couch about 2:30. But not before I noticed something.

Ever since I've awakened, I notice things. LOTS of things. And one of the things I felt, while lying on the couch was LOVE. Pure unadulterated friendshippy love in a it's warmest pink glow. I fell asleep very happy. Kept waking up to a loud cat, but fell asleep very happy.

Sunday
Woke up, ran off to IHOP and Central MArket (which I'd never been to despite the fact I lived across teh street from it). My suspicionds were right - very good cool stuff there, but much more expensive than I could afford.

When we got back, Erin cleared out the ground for the new skirting on the house and then we both took a walk INTO THE WOODS.

Woods.

Trees.

Streams.

Clearings.

::GUSH::

Came back in, started dinner, which they LOVED. Mental note - next time, less rice, more meat. Much tastiness abounds. Everyone fell asleep about 9:30. I'm still up, talking with a friend. It's 2:30...I really should go to bed.

I'll prolly stay here till Tuesday.

Wish me luck on the job.
BTW, remember that my site MAY be down for a day or two and my alternate EMail if you can't get to me at JENN@DOLARI.ORG is DOLARI@ENTROPY.TMOK.COM (not jenn@entropy.tmok.com)
