I'd wanted to take a time lapse of the moon through my telescope but:

1) My lowpower lens is missing! The one that shows the whole disc at once!

and

2) It's 100% overcast right now!!!! What's up with that, weatherguys!?!?

The birthday +1 girl got a good one. My camera was not enough to really get anything this good.

That was a fluke shot - my camera was having an incredibly hard time focussing on something that dark, and since it was dark I couldn't see to figure out how tell it to do a manual focus on infinity. I do like that this camera will do 4-second exposures and has 10x zoom though, that makes all the difference. The last lunar eclipse (2004?) I was still using a film camera with a fixed 50mm lens, so even though I got the long exposure the moon was just sort of off in the distance.

And how are y'all responding to this post so quickly? It's eerie to refresh my friends page and see brand spanking new entries with a bunch of comments already.
