I am better. Not perfect, but better. In fact, if it weren't for a clause in our handbook saying "If you're out more than three days in a row, we need a doctor's note" I would have been out another day. (The doctor would have just told me "You're better, go home.") It's not been a fun few days.

But I'm better, and telling the folks around me to keep their distance. JUST in case.

The other war, though, continues. After three days of "touch the bed, and you'll konk out" and one day of "oh, look, I can sleep standing up, I just won't be standing very long," last night I ended up going to bed at 3AM to wake up at 7AM, when my body quickly told me - it's 3AM! LET'S DO ANYTHING BUT LIE HERE ON THE BED! LET'S REPLAY WORRIES FROM THIS WEEK! LET'S LAUGH AT GREAT LINES FROM TV SHOWS WE JUST SAW!

I ended up getting about two hours of sleep (I heard my hourly chime go twice while tossing and turning).

This 4 hour sleep schedule worked great the first and second week. The third and fourth - not so much. My body was exhausted at 4AM those two weeks, now it's used to it - and doesn't much like being put to sleep at 3 or 4.

So you know what - I give up. I'm gonna Bendryl myself back to the stone age tonight, and I best be getting a semi-solid 4 hours two times a day, or there'll be hell to pay in the morning.

I hate hate hate hate day schedules. Hire me for overnight work, and I'll never miss a day or be late. I once worked every single day for a year and a half on a night schedule (EVERY SINGLE DAY! INCLUDING HOLIDAYS!)

I miss my nights. :(
