Still to do:
Oil change for the truck.
See friends when time allows
Have dad check all the hoses and fluids (pray he doesn't try to "Fix" anything).
Have a professional fix the cigarette lighter, or buy a heftier Laptop battery.
Bring Emily down on the 20th of July
Pack.

Gonna be a lean few months, but if I can pull it off I'll be able to make the trip and still have $1000 under my belt....

Future to do list once in Seattle:
Save up cash to fly down to Texas, buy a new Truck, get stuff out of parents house and drive back.

Orchiectomy.

Move to Canada.

IT all looks so easy on "paper."

You might want to plan gas at $5/gallon -- it's up to that in the Bay Area and there may be areas on remote highway stretches where they charge more.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. If it hits $5/gal EVERYWHERE, it's going to be even tighter. I still have some wiggle room if it gets to $5, but any higher by then, and I may actually have to call this whole thing off.

Your truck gets closer to 22 mpg than 20, so that's some wiggle room as well. Twenty just makes the math easier.

Withour place, look more at Stockton gas prices versus SF gas prices. We're typicallly a bit cheaper, and checking in around US$4.50 right now for regular.

Cheers,
Gwen Smith

What I'd done was looked at prices right now, then popped them up fifty cents. I did look at gassing up in Fresno first, which is where I got $4.75. I guess if I gas up around your place that'll be more like $5.

I have a feeling that going to be the only hard part. The rest, will all be an experience.

As someone with a higher squick tolerance than normal but who still considers himself a breeder, I'd like to observe that, even on paper, the word "orchiectomy" never looks easy.

I'm rooting for you.
