So what happened after the coolant problem, Jenn? Well, we tightened up the hose, no problem. But the Sidekick died. Earlier in the day I'd been fighting with an image to upload to the gallery. Wat I stupidly forgot was that the image was 10MB, and the fighting with the transmitter and web service over the course of an hour drained the battery to heck. The Sidekick 3? Dead. The Laptop? Dead trying to power the Sidekick.

The camera, though, worked, so the new pics are all updated on the gallery now, and the sidekick is being powered up for a much more frugal use. No more 10 MB files, Jenn. ::waggles fingers::

Did I mention the emergency repacking of everything because of the thunderstorm? My god we ran late.

So, just to keep things going - here are some "twitterish" notes I recall from the trip.

O'Donnell - tiny little town witha museum dedicated to Hoss from Gunsmoke. NEat looking statue.
Lubbock - couldn't find the Buddy Holly statue without the Sidekick. Found Mac Davis lane, though. Cheap gas, too!
Bainier - no one here except horses and robots. Maybe robot horses, too.
Muleshoe - Earth is only 18 miles from Littlefield. Out of this world! Never did find the Worlds Biggest Muleshoes
Farwell - Right up State Line Road! Texas to the left, NM to the right, 6PM on the right, 5PM on the left! That's gotta be wierd to have neightbors an hour ahead/behind you.
Texico, NM - 15 minutes of charge time on the SK. Not much, but enough to restart the system and load the radar for the thunderstorms up ahead. Why is it every city in the Texas Panhandle and New Mexico look 15 minutes from drying up and blowing away?

(Twittering starts again, then ends when the power dies)

Santa Rosa - Lightning strikes 80 miles away, and a beautiful cresent moon behind the haze. Gorgeous!
Clines Corners - Las Vegas and Santa Fe are lighting up the clouds in the distance. Bathroom stop and water stop, as well as worrying about lightning up ahead in ABQ.
Moriarty - RAIN! Pulled over and repacked the boxes under the tarp, hopefully rainproof now.
Tijeras - Still seeing Santa Fe and LAs Vegas as faint spots in the distance. That's some bright cities!
Alburquerque - Bedtime. See you in about seven hours.

I'll try this blogging from the road again - but like I said, much more frugally and less stupidly (no more 10MB files!)
