Okay, after seeing the Colm Meany Life on Mars pilot, and the actually aired one, I'm glad they retooled the series. Grittier, meaner, more Law and Order and less Barney Miller.

I've actually never seen it - I did see Ashes to Ashes though, which got me interested in Life on Mars when it was being transplanted to the US.

I may pick up the UK series, if it's anything like Ashes to Ashes.
