dolariAs I thought, paycheck was well below rent. Rent - $835. Paycheck $829. Thankfully, I'd managed to save $120 by not spending a damned thing unless I absolutely had to (my grocery run this week? Bread, milk, sugar. Gas? Nonexistant. Bills, no way. But the $120 I saved got me rent and utilities.
The remainder is going to my credit cards - bit much, but anything to keep them from being maxxed out. And I can spend that money if I need to. And I'll need to as my poor truck is gasping for gas.
Speaking of the truck, it did something very disturbing today. On my way to work, the truck seemed to be running double-time. Like it was throttleing way hard and raring to go. I could hit a red light, and hear the engine revving kinda hard. I put it in first gear and let the clutch up to slow the engine down, and it would stay down till it began to slowly inch back up. On the way to work, the temperature slowly rose till I hit a red light before the park and ride. And while I sat there I could visibly see the temperature guage rising.
I made it to the park and ride, but didn't have any time to see what was going on with the pickup. A quick look and I saw I might have been low on water in my flood tank, but I didn't have time to really get a good look.
When I got back from work, I shone my light in the flood tank, and it had water - it looked a little low. I poured some water into it and drove hoime, and nothing happened (although the oil pressure seemed a little high). But then again, the engine was running normally, it had a fresh tank of water, and it was midnight and cold.
Whe nI parked, I noticed some rivulets of rusty water coming off the truck, but it's raining, there's LOTS of water coming off the truck. And the undercarriage only shows water in places where there aren't any tubes, and no wet spots in the engine or hood area at all.
I'm hoping the temperature problems were it idling too fast, and that it can survive for a month or two before I get it overhauled (assuming I can save up for it). If it is just leaking, that's great - I can keep filling up the tank till I Can afford to have it fixed.
