It rains all the time in Seattle. That part of the stereotype is true (at least in fall). What they don't tell you...is that its not....rain rain.

You don't get tropical downpours like back home...an entire three days of rain in two minutes. But its also not a foggy gentle mist, like you get back home on cold foggy days.

Its more like...a lot of dripping. Spray your roof with a bunch of water and see how it drips once it settles down. Expand that over an entire state for three months. THAT'S Seattle style rain.

Its kinda like Chinese water torture, but with more Teriyaki shops. I kinda like it. :)

Welcome to Cascadia. Our weather drives two out of three California transplants to suicide within the first year. ^^

Three? More like six to nine months, surely?

In the winter, it's sometimes too cold to rain.

Sometimes. Not, y'know, frequently.

I moved to the seattle area from texas. no thunderstorms, but they act like the world is comeing to an end everytime a decent storm comes through (which happens once in the spring and once in the fall). other than that, just make sure you drink enough coffee to make up for the lack of sun shine.

oh, and welcome to the area. i hope you enjoy yourself here

Welcome to fall in the Northwest, dear heart. I get my bike rides whenever I can because they can be weeks apart.
