I find it kind of sad, really. For all my joking, I do love this country. I'm sorry to see that at the same time we can vote a Black man for president, we can take away rights to other discriminated groups.
Before, when the country was being horrifyingly governed, I could say "Good Riddance." Now I can't say that, and it's more of a "I'm leaving a place that finally showing some progress - just not enough....yet."
Bigots are destroying the institution of marriage. By the way, infiltrator's scoop: the people who fervently pray against the scourge of homosexuality have *usually* been divorced at least once.
Times Jesus mentioned divorce being sucky in his Earthly ministry: >0 Times Jesus mentioned states of non-heterosexuality being sucky in his Earthly ministry: 0 (And it's not like it wasn't there. The Roman culture seeping into Judea at the time was Totally Gay.)
This is about the issue where if a place like California, which is usually on the edge of culture reform, can't kill this kind of legislation, then no one else will. The fact that this fight is so CLOSE speaks volumes for at least 48% of the population of California.
California isn't a horrible place - the problem is, it's so much better than most other places, and it STILL failed.
I do know. I also got over it in time. I'm sorry, Gwen. But I'm not going to censor myself for what I think. For what it's worth, unless there's a last minute turnaround, that'll prolly be my last say on the matter.
traditional marriage my ass. Traditional Marriage involves dowries and not being able to chose who your spouse is since it was all arranged before your first birthday
Prop 8 will be overturned one day. But domestic partnerships are the future I now believe, for ALL couples. Those places which have firm support for marriage equality (i.e. have moved into the future) like Quebec, Norway, Holland, Sweden etc. do not have high marriage rates either.

But because all my friends get to tell me what a horrible place I live in.
It kinda gets to me. A lot.

Being from Texas - I hear ya. I've been hearing that for years. ESPECIALLY the last eight. And ESPECIALLY since I moved to Washington.
