The days since The End of Globex have actually been pretty busy, but at the same time are involving a LOT of waiting.

Putting the comics on a three day a week scehdule keeps me busy Sunday, Tuesday and Thrusday, some of those days done with Erin as she draws Various Erin Things and even the occasional VE strip. They're busy days, but fulfilling days, and I'm enjoying doing comics again. I think the quality of the comics has gone way up, too. Full color again, and the actual art has gotten better.

The rest of the days are puttering around the house, cleaning here and there, and life has become really boring on those days. Second Life is pretty much dead to me with my bad connection, I can't do drives with gas prices going up, and being jobless means cross-border traffic to see Emily has just gotten very very very iffy (last time I crossed, they called Globex to confirm my employment). It's lead me to be pretty cabin fevery. Having Erin over is nice, maybe I'll do the opposite this time and go over there, just for the change of pace.

I also have a guitar now! Given to me by Loren Coven of Grey Matters. It's missing a string but Emily tuned it to within an inch of it's life. Once I get the string replaced, I'm going to try and play it. (Loren never told me if she gave that to me to play, or to draw guitars better, but maybe I'll try both).

Rent is paid for June, so if all goes wrong, I'm good till July 10th. There's a good chance that I'll get bills and rent for that in time, as I only need $600 at this point. With all the freetime, I may begin taking comissions.

Tons of resumes are out. 18 in all in the last two weeks. I'm worried that I've heard ZERO from anyone so far, but it only has been two weeks. There's a job I'm looking at that involves specifically fixing Dell Computer, right down the street, and has good pay. Can't go wron with a person who WORKED at Dell and lives three miles away.

I called DNP, my last job, asking them if they could telecommute me. The nice thing about working in such a small company is that everyone there is your friend, and talking to her was about 40% business, 60% catchup. There's still not enough business for them to telecommute me, but if I show up on their doorstep, I'll be put to work right then, as if I never left.

I don't really want to go back to Texas because that would put Emily and I far away again, but if I need to, I'm set.

There's also a Hail Mary pass to two recievers who don't know I'm on their team, don't know I have the ball, and may not realize I'm passing it to them. If they take it and run with it, great. If they don't, the ball fumbles, and I put away a dream I've wanted for years.

So now I'm in the Great Wait. Waiting on the recievers. Waiting on new job. Waiting on wether I will move. Waiting on cash...

But you know what - I'm feeling creative again. And that's the best feeling in the world right now.

So, now you're caught up. How's you?

Thank you thank you thank you! I've been wanting an update for a long time, but didn't want to ask in case you didn't want to talk about it. I will concentrate on you again. Last time I did, something good happened to you, but I can't remember what it was. Can't hurt.

Another barrier to going across the border: as of yesterday (June 1st) the US requires a passport, a federal passport card, or an enhanced drivers license that is produced by some states. They will no longer accept a normal drivers license or birth certificate as citizenship documentation in order to enter the US.

Jenn's had a passport for about a year and a half now. I'm still waiting on my enhanced driver's license, I have an appointment to interview for one next week.

In the Toronto Star they were saying it's not really going to be enforced for the first few months, you'll just get a warning. They interviewed a few people yesterday who all got through with a slap on the wrist, so you should be okay while you wait on the license.

Facing the unknown.

I can't believe they fired Steve yesterday. We have no idea what to do. We're going to delay thinking about it for a couple of days until he recovers from the shock.

To increase the likelihood that your receivers will catch the pass, make sure they know that they're playing football with you. :)

They know now. And they took the ball, handed it back to me and said, "Sign it, and we'll talk."

Ooh.. Guitar. I can't play one worth anything, but still love them. Actually took guitar as an elective back in Jr. high. Parents wouldn't let me take lessons, though. Didn't think it was a "real" instrument. (Yet, had no problem letting my brother when he asked, go figure.)

Yeah...been there. It's the stupid economy. Lot's of "jobs" out there but no one wants to do hiring.

w00t! Let's hope they catch it! Putting away dreams = bad. Trust me. Think I want to be directing news?

Expecting more good things to come?
