There are two PBS stations in Seattle. KCTS and KBTC. KCTS is boring. Lots of financial shows. Lots of dry boring documentaries on dry boring topics. Then there's KBTC. They show Dr. Who. Red Green. Really freaking cool documentaries...

...and I couldn't get KBTC for anything after the digital switch. I moved my antenna everywhere, up down, left right all around the outside of my apartment biulding. Nothing.

Finally I just gave up - I'd never get KBTC. Boogers. So I started reeling my antenna in...and it fell over.

And KBTC came in perfectly. Not a single bad packet, frame, signal. It comes in stronger than closer signals. But only if the antenna is laid down at a specific angle, and pointing a specific direction.

DTV is wierd.

But I can see Doctor Who now. :D "Black Orchid, Part Two."

That is remarkably close to how Sherry's youngest daughter has to move the antenna sometimes to get in a horridly dull children's channel, "Qubo". She'll have to put the antenna at an angle that has it sticking out at the eye-poking level of anyone foolish enough to wander too close to the TV.

"The Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Adric arrive in England in 1925. At a masked ball at Cranleigh Hall a series of murders begins, and Ann Talbot, who is the spitting image of Nyssa, is abducted. The Doctor must uncover the secret the Cranleigh family is hiding from the world."

Yeah I was hoping my reception would improve but it actually seems a little worse. At least with rabbit ears you had something on there even if the channel didn't completely come in. .. Progress ..

One thing I'll miss about the switch ove to Digital is that I can't get weak signals anymore. I used to love trying to get channels from my huge TV antenna on my old house and see how far away I could get a signal.

I managed to get a few stations from Austin and Corpus Christi that way.
