Life in Texas is hot. But in Texas, no house woth its salt is without Air Conditioning. Up here in the northwest, AC is a rarity. And we're in a heatwave (95 today. Expected to be 105 tomorrow). Here's how hot it is in my house right now:

95 in the house.

From the back of the card:

The front of this card has been coated with 8 bands of thermal sensitive LIQUID CRYSTAL, each formulated to displat color in the degree rance indicated. When the band color is BROWN, the temperature is at the low end of its range (for example, 70-71), GREEN is mid range (72-73) and BLUE is high range (74-75). The color is cause by aligned crystal molecules twusting around each other scattering different wavelengths of white light back as color. Initial LIQUID CRYSTAL research was performed in 1888 by Austrian botanist Freidrich Reintzer.

UPDATE: Holy Crap, it was 107 near the Seattle Airport today. That's hot even in Texas.

That thing is NEAT! Do want! Yeah, we'll be leaving the air on all day and all night until the heatwave is over, the temperature indoors goes up to 80 after a half hour with them off. Eeep! Tomorrow: inhaler needed because the air outside is getting too dense and polluted. *sigh* Pretty sunsets are mostly guaranteed, though!

106 F in Eugene, Oregon. Record high.

Poor kitty was on the porch today, panting.

From the graph: 105F (hotter than body temperature) - really?

Yup Yup. It's rare for Seattle, much more common back home in Texas.

It's just as bad in OK...we got a cool front and a rain/thunder storm yesterday, knocking it down to about 85 yesterday, which was a nice break. I once did a two-mile walk in the evening and drove by the bank here in town? It was going down...we were all the way down to 108 at that point! ^^

Lol, that thing reminds me of a mood ring for some reason.

I can't believe the people that still argue that global warming is so literal that it doesn't include climate change in general (my family).

Right here in the greater Cincinnati area we have been setting record lows every day for Julys. While Seattle has a heat wave. Duh.
