Update on Emily: she's having fainting spells when trying to sit up. She tends to seizure when fainting, but that hasn't happened here. ::knocks on wood and worries::

That's not uncommon so soon after surgery. They'll try and get her sitting up this evening or tomorrow morning, and then she can begin to do the Montreal Shuffle around the Nursing station. She just needs to get her strength back and probably get her blood pressure up a bit to ease the fainting symptoms.

Seconded. I fainted once too, and I have never done that before. The vascular system has had a shock. It will adjust. It may not trigger the seizures, since the cause may be different.
