I believe that a do-over with the same memories would be sufficient. Short of adoption, choosing different parents wouldn't really work (well, if you're a transferred set of memories you could, but without them and a different set of DNA you're literally someone else in every sense of the term -- and the exercise has no meaning). Starting over in 1970, keeping my memories could easily be lucrative. Tell my parents in 1974 to get a FIXED rate mortgage, buy gold, and use that GI Bill before it expires.

Find SOME way to get an IRA in 1986 or earlier. Not be confused in class as to what 'ABC order' is until a student teacher noticing my paralysis finally explains that it means alphabetical order. NOt be overwhelmed by fear when encountering sociopathic bullies -- just be careful that they don't bump up their first murder conviction from circa 1990 to circa 1980... Presumably the slightest shuffle of outcomes would mean I wouldn't have contracted ME/CFS. ...Or if I do anyway, I'll at least know what to watch out for and what to NOT do if I suspect I may have it again anyway.
