I am honest-to-god worried every single day, several times a day when I swipe my AwesomeJob badge that I've been fired.

And its not just AwesomeJob...this happened every job iive had since I lost the Dell job, and gets worse, everytime I'm laid off or fired and end up on the verge of financial ruin.

Every morning I wake up convinced I've lost my job. Iget dressed, shower, dutifully head to work. And as I get closer to my timeclock, I get worried and an andrenaline surge...once I swipe the card, and it says im working, I get some relief. But then I clock out for lunch and it all happens again.

I fee the same way, but more as background noise than real fear, anymore. It's happened so often, for so many reasons (twice a "personality clash", mostly downsizing, merger or bad upper management decisions) that I've come to consider "job security" one of those legends of the past, like slide rules and cars with fins @_@.

So I always make sure I take on any project offered and propose projects no-one else sees (or wants.)

Seems to be working where I am right now, but I still anticipate business failures, economic chaos, and other events 'way above my paygrade that could lead to another "we'll give you a great recommendation and you can get unemployemrnt, but we'll excort you to your desk to get your stuff now and we've changed your passwords.")

So just remeber, if you ogive your best and work hard, the best you can be SURE of id that the skills you acquire and maintain will help in getting the next job, which may be Even More Awesome.

Hang in there!

Same here. It's tough to be a temp. Heck, it's tough anywhere ... but temps carry a special degree of stress and worry.
