It seems the Mission Drive In isn't going to be showing Star Wars. I know Lucas is a bitch about who gets his movies, but come on....this is the ultimate Drive In movie.

I saw Episode I at a drive-in, and it was a disaster (socially as well as technologically, but that's a completely different story). Maybe Texas just has better drive-ins than Maryland. As for me, I'll be seeing Attack of the Clones at the good old historic Senator Theatre.

I know that the Mission Drive-in was a lot nicer than the Starlite Drive-in in State College, where I saw Episode I. The Starlite was nice, but it simply was a big gravel pit in front of a screen, with a really small concession stand. But it was the only drive-in winside of 70 miles, and while it's not the Mission 4, it was stil a really fun time.

The Mission 4 in San Antonio is a four screen drive-in with paved lots, your choice of window speaker or FM sound, a HUGE concession stand with a playground (the playground is divided into four parts, each with a speaker playing the movie you're facing) and a HUGE screen, roughly double the size of the Starlite's. The only problem I have with the mission is that it's in downtown, so sometimes, if you're watching a really dark movie, the glare from traffic can bleach out the screen.

I do plan on seeing Episode II in a rel theater, prolly the Northwest 10 (Which is no where near me, but has lots of nostalgic memories...I've seen 99% of my movies (in Texas) there).
