Actually, I had to train myself not to call any soda a Coke in Pennsylvania. Back in Texas, if you order a Coke, they'll ask you "What flavor?" That's where you say Pepsi, or Dr Pepper or whatever. In PA if you ask for a Coke, you get a Coke. :)
I've heard that that's the case in Texas. Around here, like you said, if you order a Coke, you get a Coke! I don't know what you get if you ask for a pop ... maybe a punch in the face??
