Food so good...you can eat it!
Nov. 5th, 2001 11:59 pmToday has been a busy day! And yet, I never really got off my duff. It's been one of those computer days. :)
Woke up after a long 13 hour sleep. Yeah, 13 hours. Caught me off guard, too.
Last night, I had a few people tell me that they were having problems with the AWFW site, mostly with the colors. Granted, Yellow on Teal isn't exactly the BEST colors, but stupid Jenn forgot that not everyone's screens stop where hers does, and the gradient actually gets a little lighter farther down. The words were trailing off into oblivion where only the sharpest of eyes could see. I prolly blinded about twenty people doing that. :)
So the search went on for a new color scheme.
Here's a little secret. Not as big as that other one a few days ago. Most of the gradients on dolari.org were actually based on stuff. The main page was based on Street Fighter II's Chun Li colors, the "features" were based on the blue/magenta of Shuriken. The red on the personal stuff was based on the supergirl picture in the corner. Zand's was based on his colors, Carrie's on hers. The A Wish for Wings page, though, was based on her blouse. Which is white. And that looked horrible...black to white gradient. Yuck. So I went with cyan. Black to Cyan was hard on the eyes...so I made it Black to Teal. Until the complaints came in. :)
So, I redid all the color schemes to match the Chun Li scheme I had going.
Main Pages are Chun Li's colors from Street Fighter II. (Black to Blue gradient)
Features Pages and Closetspace Pages are Chun Li's colors when you press START in Super Street Fighter II (Black to Magenta)
Personal Pages are Chun Li's Street Fighter II Championship colors (Black to Red)
Polychronicon Pages are Chun Li's Super Street Fighter II colors when you hold any button three seconds (Black to Green)
This left me with several colors left fot AWFW:
Chun's SF2 Turbo color (Black to Grey)
Chun's Fourth Color (Black to Dark Grey)
Chun's Fifth Color (Black to Orange)
Chun's Sicth Color (Black to Dark Green)
WE already had a Black to green, so I nixed that one. The Grey and Dark Grey gradients I thought long and hard for...AWFW is about someone who believes she is WHITE...against a world of DARK...but never sees the grey in between...but, the cartoon is already grey, and I wanted color. That left Black to Orange.
I wasn't too keen on it, but I tried it out, and it looked COOL! Very chocolatey.
A few of you are probably saying, "Who is Chun Li?" She's the girl in my icon with the buns in her hair. Video game character. I'm big on video games. :)
Another complaint was from Netscpae users that the gradient didn't work on their system, because you can't fix a background in Netscape. Fixed that...now everyone gets a gradient that looks spiffy cool, and ultra neat. YAY!
There have been some rumblings of a good kind from Austin. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and I do hope it works out for all involved.
It's been a good day, I really liked it. :)
