yuppie! burn him!

After waking up, I had a little dinner, helped clean up around the house...FINALLY began to encode my audio tapes to MP3 since mome commandeered my old tape dubber almost a decade ago. I only erally heard my Bjork - Debut tape once or twice before the dubber became my mothers.

It's amazing how in this household everything is community property. Alway has been, but after five years with Deener, it really kind of irks me now. Looking around the house, I see stuff I brought with me from Austin beign used. My stereo speakers are now hooked up to my mom's entertainment system. My shower curtain rod is now in the guest bathrooms. My TV is now in the loft, and the crappy lof TV is now in my room. Things around here have always had this commune feel to it, but it really just grates on me now. Maybe I'm selfish. But it doesn't matter - I've been in a GREAT mood all day. Can't explain why....

Anyways, I began to make an MPeg copy of Superman for my Dreamcast. Yeah, I'm a geek. The DVD player is in the loft, and I like to watch movies in bed. I have a way to encode a DVD movie into a MPeg movie, which I can then play on my Dreamcast. Real easy, since it encodes in real time. So, while the movie played in the bedroom, I watched four hours of Law & Order. :) Well, not really. I drew. I drew an entire strip in four hours. Mind you they have almost no backgrounds (these are action sequences...sorta...and I wanted to use LOTS of gradients on it. Lots of zooming type feel.

So, the movie finishes, and I burn it on to a CD. After an hour of burning, I take the CD out, and in my wonderful hubris, delete the 600MB MPeg file.

Jenn never learns.

Jenn never backs up.

Jenn never runs scandisk or defrag.

Jenn did tech support for YEARS.

I pop in the CD into my deramcast, and it can't read it. Stupid Jenn forgot to burn it in "Mode 1" instead of the default "Mode 2." The CD was semi-worthless. D'OHH! At least I can take the file off the burned CD and try to make it Mode 1.

In the meantime, I'm almost done putting together Strip #7. IT has a VERY VERY creepy picture...hmmm...I think I'll post it here. :)
