Unicorn is very simple to use.
Nov. 27th, 2001 11:59 pmFINALLY a decent eight hours of sleep.
Too bad I spent the ENTIRE DAY, from 2PM to now (5:16 AM) pasted in front of this computer. All I did all day was read (Star Wars) movie scripts...there really isn't much else I CAN do.
Well, that's not completely true...I did a midnight errand for mom, dropping off a deposit at 2AM. It's thirty degrees outside...and I still have a bit of Pennsylvania in me, thinking it really wasn't all THAT cold. What freaked me out was the thunderstorm. I've never been in a thunderstorm where it was that cold. I've heard of Thundersnows in Pennsylvania, and never saw them.
Anyways, back to the Star Wars scripts - I'm a "movie archaeology" buff. I like to know about perproduction and the Behind the Scene stories and early drafts and the like. I've even written some pieces about Early Star Wars for the Starkiller site (http://www.starwarz.com - click on either STARKILLER ot JEDI BENDU SCRIPT SITE). I finally go tmy hands on a copy of the second draft of Return of the Jedi (or in this case, Revenge).
It's a pretty good script, much less kiddie than the final movie. We stil lahve Ewoks, yeah, and they're still cute and cuddly, but we have better events. Luke gets captured by the Empire JUST after rescuing Han. The Emperor gets Luke behind Vader's back, and there's a lot more going on with Vader, where you see that the Emperor is obviously trying to get rid of Vader for Luke. Plus there're two Death Stars, The emperor is on Coruscant (Called HAd Abbadon here) deep inside the city, where his throne room is literally in a lava cave. PRetty cool stuff.
I just wish I could read EVEN SLOWER. Or make the hours pass by faster.
