WARNING! WARNING! OFFICIAL PR SOUNDING BLURB AHEAD:

I'll be at Trinoc-Con in Raliegh-Durham, NC July 21st-23rd! Along side some better artists, such as Erin Lindsey of Venus Envy and Jamie Robertson of Clan of the Cats. I'll be dirt poor so I may not have much at my table besides my love, which is $5 a pop. $10 if you want to use the whip.

Okay. Some news.

Remember that job I interviewed for about a month and a half ago? They told me to call them back in two weeks? And they hadn't even decided if they were going to hire yet? And then I called two weeks after that? And left a message? And no one called me back?

They called back Wednesday for an interview on Thursday.

My truck again proved it loves me by getting to San Marcos and Back on $1 of gas, which doesn't even get you anywhere close to a gallon these days. The Interview went VERY VERY VERY well, and was more of an informal "Get to know you" kind of interview. He said my resume was amazing, I gave hm some examples of my hardware and software skills. He was impressed with the fact that I can actually do hardware work on PCs, but I lucked out in having a crap computer in the 80s when back then you had to solder chips yourself, and make sure you bought the right capaciters because they'd blown out. So yeah, I know my hardware. :)

The interview went on about 45 minutes, 20 or so was techie stuff and experience, the other 25 was just jibber jabber, which I found...different. But hey, if he's comfortable just jawing with me maybe that's a good thing? :D

One piece of information that came out that floored me though, was out of a month and half of whittling down the candidates - I was one of TWO people they chose from. Kinda scary. Some other stuff is that it's an incredibly low call volume. The whole place gets as many calls for problems as I got MYSELF at Wincor. It's small, no more that 20 people, and seems INCREDIBLY organized, which is something I need after Wincor. The only potential downside is there's no late shifts (the place closes at 8) and...well...that's about it.

Wish me luck, folks. I really need this one.
