Fate decided that my commute wasn't boring enough, so it had someone take the radio from my truck. :(

When I left for work, I found my driver's side door open (thankfully, the dome light doesn't work, or my battery would be dead), the seat flipped forward, and my portable radio missing.

Really, it's my fault. My dad's advice about locking up your truck is to simply not do it. If there's nothing of value in there, they'll just close the door and you won't have to worry about a broken window. The problem is, I tend to leave Important Stuff in the truck. A lot. I was prolly lucky that I didn't leave my wallet in there.

Ah, well. The radio ws a present to myself for getting the Wincor job, I'll get another one as a present for this job.

Gonna be a boring commute, though....

Preliminary budget for the first paycheck. I estimated my cash low, and my payouts high.

$1000 starting cash:

$525 - RENT
$150 - RADIO (optional)
$100 - CLOTHES
$40 - SHOES
$80 - GAS

$105 spending money.

I'd like to get a cell phone as my primary phone, particularly a Sidekick 3 (I have some friends who are sold on it), but that's $300. I'd also like to get glasses, but for that I'd need an exam and new frames which'll be a prtty penny. I may wait until my third paycheck (a non rent paycheck) to get those. Hope these'll hold out till then.

However, if my paycheck is bigger than I estimated (and it prolly will be) I'll skip the radio and go for the glasses, or the phone, whichever I can afford. I can even step back on gas, too, if I need to seeing as I'll be biking into work.

Two weeks to my first paycheck! :)

Starting next week, they're putting me on at 10AM!

Okay, it's not quite starting at 1PM like I'd like...but the manager says we're working up to that. :)

$1185 (Estimated paycheck after taxes)

$458 - RENT (includes deposit and application fee)
$325 - PHONE (Sidekick 3 cell phone)
$156 - HORMONES (2 months supply)
$110 - CLOTHES (includes new sneakers and one new outfit to replace an old one)
$100 - GROCERIES (estimate)

$36 spare for two weeks, if I just get one month's supply, I'll have $110 for two weeks. I can always get more in two weeks, so one month's supply will prolly do.

Either way, I can't afford new glasses which I will try to get on my third, non-rent paycheck. I hope they hold just a LITTLE longer.

Questions? comments? Things I haven't thought about?
