First allow me to say the most insane thing I've ever done is buy a lot of food I have no idea how it'll taste, and then have no money left for regular groceries (oops). I'm committed to this experiment if I want to survive.
So, how has it gone so far? Well....
Dinner on Friday: Gyudon. Shredded beef on rice. Didn't taste bad at all, and was such a simple looking thing to prepare that I'm surprised there're no recipes out there for it. I'd buy this again, although it's rather expensive for something so "simple."
Breakfast on Saturday: Pappadums with mint chutney. :9 Microwave papadums are the jiffypop of the Indian world.
Lunch on Saturday: Sheperd's Pie. Okay, I have to admit, I'd had this ONCE before, but what my sister made, and what I ended up with were totally different. And this was damned tasty. I would bu it again, but it seems pretty easy to make, and recipes are out there for this. :9
Dinner on Saturday: Pataks' frozen Vegetable Tikka Masala. It tasted like Chunky Soup poured over rice, and cost twice as much. Not getting it again. The mini samosas and aloo paratha, though....very tasty.
