I woke up today to a phone call from Erin saying "Hey, we're coming over! And bringing Loren! We'll be there in 30 minutes!" And all I could say was "wha, huh?" Turns out I'd slept till about 5PM. Oops. And that I'd forgotten I'd invited them over. Oops. And that I hadn't cleaned house. Oops.
I managed to wake up, clean house, showe all before they got here. I need to keep it clean as they're doing an inspection Thursday.
Anyways, they came over, and we grabbed some dinner, tacos and chicken. My friends in Texas? Please...please go hug your local Taqueria. When you buy tacos here, instead of getting a nice flour tortilla taco that generously fits in your hand, our here you get these itty bitty bite size corn tortilla tacos. 4 for $4, sure, but I hate corn tortillas, and these...these are just itty bitty things.
I miss you Taco Cabana.
Anyways, I picked up some Popeye's for everyone as well, as Lissa misses it, and the only one in Seattle is just down the way. Plus these itty bitty tacos just weren't gonna do it. We got in, and all had a tasty tasty dinner.
After that, we sat down and drew for almost three hours straight. I love these little art jams. Something about having other cartoonists around me really gets the creative juices flowing. Loren worked on her little not-sure-if-its-porn-but-its-funny project, Erin worked on a few portfolio pieces, and I got two panels of CS done.
All while watching episodes of Corner Gas! I'm making some converts here. States side: Take that WGN! See, if you can get people to actually KNOW where to see the show, they'll watch it!
In all it was a very good day. And I've needed one of those recently. :)
