Had to run home for, of all things, aspirin (Headache, day three). While I have some quick time, here's that Eureka moment.

The reason I'm so up in the air about this job is that I'm not actually doing the support I'm used to and an expert at. At my core, I'm a hardware tech. I like fixing hardware. Even if it's only over the phone. The Nintendo Consoles, the networking support at Speakeasy, DNP's photo kiosks, Officemax's cash registers...they're all hardware support in one way or another.

This job is not hardware. It's an IT department. Subtle but major difference. I'm not fixing things. I'm pushing software downloads, I'm reassigning paperwork, I'm resetting passwords. If I was a mechanic at a previous job, I'm a butler at this one.

I'm quickly realizing I do not like being a butler.

That said, no matter what my heart may say about "LEAVE, LEAVE NOW" (crossreference, headache, Day 3), I need this job more than I don't need it. Once I have the apartment and am settled in at home, I can begin the job search for a mechanic job.

Or who knows, maybe the paychecks will not make me mind being a butler by then. We'll see.

Heart: "Okay, we're on the same page?"
Mind: "Yeah, yeah we are."
Heart: "Good. I'll turn off the headaches and stomachahes now. But remember, I can turn them back on later. And I have yet to unleash the hives. That's in my arsenal, too."
Mind: "Dude, if you'd just speak English, I wouldn't have to guess what you mean."
Heart: "English is your job, man, not mine."

Finally getting some progress in sorting/packing the house. Not much, but a bit. Slowly things are beginning to unwind. VERY VERY SLOWLY.
