Carrie popped up in my head to show me her first show in the comics. I'd always planned for Carrie to push forward getting closer to Heidi...but instead it's Heidi pushing, which makes more sense.

And not only will Carrie meet her new bassist, but how she does it will be kind of neat, playing on her social fears and losing herself in her performance to get over them...

I've watched Buckaroo Bonzai a trillion times since it came out. Still have no idea what's going on. But whatever it is is a lot of fun. Also, best closing credits in the history of movies.

As much as I can see fundamentalist religions around, I also see what I call "fundamentalist science." While science isn't a bad thing (I mean, it more than often IS the provable truth)...I usually see people use "fundamentalist" science as a way to purposely not see the forest for the trees, to stifle "irrational" imagination and deflate "statistically hopeless" hope or ambitious plans.

I often get kidded for quoting a line from Babylon 5: “Faith and reason are like the shoes on your feet – you can go further with both than with either by itself.” I really do believe that. It allows me to dream while keeping my feet grounded, instead of working on insane impossible goals, or ignoring plans and ideas that may never happen, but could.

Your mileage may vary, but this works, and works very well, for me.

I love how the special features and commentary for Buckaroo Bonzai are done from the point of view that it was a documentary about the real Bonzai Institute.
