So, on my first night back in San Antonio, I planned out the trip back. Looks like I'll be leaving for Seattle on Black Friday, and drive up over the next five days. As much as I'd like for it to be a no-freeways trip, it's far too late in the season to do that. Snow is a Bad Thing.

But I will make a compromise, and stop along the way to see the sights.

Will be staying overnight in Roswell, Flagstaff, Fresno and Medford.

While I'm not a very religious person, I'm very spritual. In trying to find my religious niche, I've tried a lot of things. From being a devout Roman Catholic, to a passable witch, to making my own thing up, to just taking a quote from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and running with it.

While I never found a religion that fit me, one thing I've taken from all this that still rings true to me is a mix of the Wiccan Samhain, The Mexican-Catholic Day of the Dead and Roman-Catholic All Souls Day. For me, these three days are probably the closest I have to a religious holiday. It's a time of releasing, regrouping, and rebirth.

I find it a good omen that I left Austin today, the first of the three days. It truly is a release and a regrouping. Rebirth won't happen for a while...but we're off to a good start.
